Master's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of progressive experience in academic administration, higher education, student affairs, or the equivalent.
Demonstrated commitment to student advocacy within a learning environment; proven experience in working with students, faculty, academic administrators, alumni and community groups.
Knowledge and appreciation for Latino cultures, issues in the relevant communities, and a commitment to translating these into a local academic context.
Visionary and collaborative leadership skills.
Superb judgment, demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial and written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated sensitivity, imagination, effectiveness and success in developing educational community programs.

Fluency in Spanish.
Experience evaluating, refreshing and updating administrative policies, office systems and budgets within an educational setting strongly preferred.
Experience working effectively with young adults/adolescents, families, faculty, senior administration and staff members within a similar higher education setting is strongly preferred.
A demonstrated understanding of strategic planning, experience utilizing data and assessment to inform decision making, and effective program advocacy skills are all preferred.
Experience successfully engaging campus climate issues through co-curricular student-focused programs and leadership development a plus.
Terminal degree in relevant academic field preferred; relevant teaching and topical research experience a plus.
Special Work Schedule Requirements: Some nights and weekend commitments, including participation in the administrator-on-call rotation, required.
