This position is responsible for day to day data integrity operational functions within the Centura Health Revenue Management Department to maintain a clean enterprise master patient index. Responsibilities will include review, thorough research, and correction activities within Meditech, Epic, or any other designated system. This position will work closely and in collaboration with facility HIM, Patient Access, Physician Offices, and others on matters concerning integrity of the enterprise master patient index. Participation in patient and patient proxy access to the portal will be required.
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Associate or equivalent work experience preferred
Training in medical terminology preferred
Minimum Experience Requirements
1 year of health information management , patient access, or billing experience in a healthcare setting.
Experience with the electronic health record (EHR) and health information systems and applications.
Effective communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
Attentive to details
Knowledge in health care compliance, HIPAA privacy and confidentiality laws
Demonstrated computer aptitude on healthcare related applications. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Experience with Epic preferred
Prefer AHIMA credential – RHIA, RHIT

Works routine potential duplicate work queues including but not limited to Mark for Merge, Duplicate Warning Override Reports, and Demographic Change Reports.*
Completes all types of tasks based on workflow to research and resolve potential duplicates and overlays.*
Responds to system wide Data Integrity calls and general e-mail box questions.*
Participate in patient and proxy portal access.*
Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to assist with problem identification and resolution.*
Prepares reports, presentations, and other documents as instructed.*
Follows and adheres to pre-defined quality and productivity standards.*
Assists with data cleanup projects as needed.*
