The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of successful experience as a development officer fundraising and involvement with a major donor constituency, or experience in marketing or sales. Demonstrated comfort level in making ‘cold calls’ to qualify and solicit charitable gifts. Experience in a financial-related area such as planned giving, accounting, law or financial services preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Sensitivity and skill in handling confidential information. Demonstrated ability in achieving established goals and establishing job priorities based on same. Demonstrated ability to perform individual and/or group and public presentations. Must be willing to travel in and out of state. Understanding and affinity for the mission of Anderson University; Understanding and affinity for the Church of God movement and the relationship between AU and the Church of God; Ability to communicate these matters to constituents.
The successful candidate will be energetic, self-motivated and comfortable working independently and in a team-oriented environment. The ability to establish warm professional relationships with constituents based on integrity and respect is essential. The ability to adapt to and effectively utilize appropriate technology is important. The successful candidate must have experience with desktop computer with Windows based applications, Internet Explorer, Microsoft, and electronic calendaring. Experience with Reeher Data Platform, PeopleSoft gift system (databases) is a plus. The successful candidate will be enthusiastically supportive of the mission of the university, will exhibit a strong commitment to personal Christian faith, and be comfortable with the lifestyle expectations of the university. A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred and an advanced degree could strengthen an applicant’s candidacy.
