| The Project on Predatory Student Lending seeks to hire a Project Manager to help lead and manage its work on behalf of low-income student loan borrowers. The Project on Predatory Student Lending is housed in the Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School (LSC), a community law office located in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, dedicated to public service and clinical teaching. The Project seeks to mitigate and prevent the harms of predatory student lending on the communities served by LSC, by representing individual clients, engaging in strategic impact litigation, and forming partnerships with key stakeholders. |
The Project Manager will play a crucial role by overseeing the administrative functions of a team of attorneys and paralegals, managing the project's budget, spending, and grant reporting, and leading certain non-legal components of the Project, including designing operations and systems for Project workflow. The position may also involve coordinating internal and external communications. The Project Manager will work with other administrators of the Legal Services Center and Harvard Law School. The position entails significant interaction with clients and potential clients, clinical students, partner organizations and service-providers, and the staff of the Project on Predatory Student Lending, the Legal Services Center, and Harvard Law School.

About the Project on Predatory Student Lending: Established in 2012 as part of the Legal Services Center's Predatory Lending/Consumer Protection Clinic, the Project on Predatory Student Lending represents low-income student loan borrowers who have experienced predatory lending in connection with for-profit schools. In addition to representing low-income borrowers in courts and arbitration, it has been a leading advocate for improving state and federal policies that affect low-income borrowers. From nationally important victories for consumers in cases such as U.S. Bank vs. Ibanez to the first-of-its-kind Project on Predatory Student Lending, its attorneys have pioneered new areas of practice and clinical teaching.
