We are seeking a senior health economist who can help to design and conduct studies in health economics and outcomes research modelling to support our 2016/17 business plan. This will include supporting senior staff in the management and oversight of project activities, as well as being involved hands-on in project delivery. The Senior Consultant will be expected to take a leadership role also in maintaining the quality of projects. The projects that we deliver provide solutions to the most cutting-edge market access challenges in the industry.
Duties and responsibilities of the role
The Senior Consultant will organise and effectively lead project teams of consultants, analysts and external associates in the development and delivery of global research projects, this will involve:-
Providing high quality insight and guidance to project teams.
Participating actively in core elements of projects, including client liaison, development of project-specific discussion guide materials, selection of key payer decision makers, undertaking payer discussions, input to analysis and presentation development, delivery of project results
Support the development of internal standards for technical health economics and outcomes research projects, and support development and knowledge sharing amongst the consulting team
In general, the role will contribute to the following projects depending on expertise:-
economic modelling of cost-effectiveness, and budget impact
preference elicitation and utility studies
healthcare resource use and costing studies
design and analysis of pre-launch and post-launch real-world observational studies
strategic input into HTA and P&R submissions
HEOR strategy development and input to clinical trial design
The Senior Consultant will also pro-actively support the business development activities, including client engagement and account management of the growing client list.
We are looking for candidates with an outstanding academic background who are confident operators at all levels. The successful candidate must possess a post-graduate qualification in a relevant scientific, medical or economic discipline.
More specifically, we are looking for:
Experience within health economics and decision science, ideally within the consulting or pharmaceutical sector and with client-facing experience
Demonstrable experience of building evidence-based value propositions across different healthcare systems and making submissions to P&R and HTA agencies
Demonstrable experience of how to define, create and communicate product value
Demonstrated experience in undertaking health economics or economic modelling
Demonstrated understanding of health technology assessment and economic evaluation
Outstanding work ethic and commitment to delivering timely high quality work
Exceptional attention to detail
First-rate written and verbal communication skills
Experience of project management and line management
Experience presenting papers at national or international conferences
Competence in using analytical software (TreeAge, WinBUGS, SAS, Simul8, R, Excel, etc.) to undertake decision analysis, meta-analysis, Markov modelling or microsimulation
Advanced Excel modelling skills, including VBA
ITC/NMA capabilities would be an advantage or at least some familiarity with these concepts
