This position assists the Assistant Department Head for Undergraduate Studies and Graduate Program Director in administering undergraduate and graduate teaching programs. Duties include providing support for all teaching-related activities, such as orientation, registration, providing academic information and referrals to students, processing graduate student applications, and maintaining student files. Serves as liaison between the department and the Registrar's Office, Graduate School, CALS and COE Academic Deans' Offices, and CALS and COE Associate Deans for Graduate Studies Offices. Facilitates assessment of undergraduate and graduate programs.
Experience working with undergraduate and/or graduate students; Computer software skills, including word processing and spreadsheet; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Demonstrated ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and manage multiple tasks.
Broad knowledge of university policies and procedures, particularly related to registration, class scheduling, degree and graduation requirements; Advanced computer skills, particularly related to data management software; Ability to use and interpret the BANNER family of administrative systems.
