The Senior Research Associate, HEOR is responsible for conducting a wide range of statistical and health economic analyses to support market access and reimbursement across the Medtronic Minimally Invasive Therapies Group (MITG) Business Units and global regions. The position principally entails conducting and publishing or otherwise disseminating in-house HE studies, in collaboration with internal stakeholders and KOLs, to generate new insights and evidence relevant to the Medtronic MITG portfolio of products and services. Managing projects conducted by vendors and outside researchers is a smaller but important component. The work is highly collaborative and the position will work closely with stakeholders across functions and businesses, as well as with the other members of the HEOR team.
The Research Associate will be required to become acquainted with and be able to analyze complex healthcare data using statistical and economic datasets from multiple observational sources including Premier, MarketScan, MEDPAR and others. The Research Associate will also be required to perform complex statistical analyses using software such as SAS, TreeAge, Excel, etc.
Required Skills: High-level proficiency in SAS (Including SAS macros and SAS SQL), MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access; Experience constructing and working with large databases used for research
Skills/Competencies: Solid statistical skills and understanding of medical/clinical research methods, publication, interpretation, and ability to use evidence to support value propositions preferred.
Education: A minimum educational experience is a BS in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related analytic field. Preferred educational experience is a Master’s degree in economics, statistics, or related field, with a minimum of 2 cumulative years of relevant economic/statistical outcomes research experience.
