Under the moderate supervision job supports departmental research programs and/or clinical trials with study data collection and organization through data management activities and their associated best practices. The range of duties includes, but is not limited to: project planning and management; supervision of data collection activities; data analysis; data management and oversight; organizing collected information; records management; staff training; communicating with team members on the status of project(s) educational outreach for the research community; and participation in affiliated CCHR center projects as needed. Work may include the training and supervision of staff, students and others in performing specific duties.
General knowledge of principles, concepts, and theory behind research; applies general analytical skills to oversee the logistical implementation of assigned projects, and to identify situations requiring special attention. Utilizing this knowledge, will ensure adherence to research protocols, operating procedures, and all associated internal/and external regulations.
Coordinates and/or conducts multiple, concurrent assignments. Communicates regularly with PIs on status and progress of projects and participate in meetings with research study teams to provide technical updates, report on any technical issues, and make recommendations for resolutions to new/outstanding technical issues. This includes recommendations for SOP and best practices guidance to clients for evaluating, designing, managing and extracting data from research databases.
Manages day to day research and programmatic activities as they relate to database development and database management for research projects and programs, including: Collaborate with project primary investigators and CCHR/BEAD Core to determine needs and develop custom databases tailored according to specifications.
Maintain, repair, manage, troubleshoot and update ACASI basic architecture for new/ongoing projects to be continued by CCHR staff. Use best practices to store data on secure Hopkins network and manage files within warehouse manager to allow for data export.
Maintain and build Teleform basic architecture for continued programming by CCHR staff and/or complete complex forms entirely.
Conduct exploratory analyses including QA/QC and basic frequencies.
Perform moderately complex data analyses, interpret research data, present research findings and prepare data for use for various computer software applications.
Develop moderately complex tracking database/spreadsheet based on study requirements utilizing Excel, Access, or similar software applications.
Continue development of database programming skills.
Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly deliverable reports for internal and external audiences as needed.
Responsible for data security, understanding of HIPAA, IRB.
Participate in other CCHR research, programs as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
