The Building Operations Manager manages the daily building operations for the Brown leased area within South Street Landing (SSL) facility through coordination and facilitation of internal and external resources and services. The manager works with the AVP of Real Estate and the Facilities Management Department to develop procedures for coordinating and communicating building repairs and maintenance and follows through with the Landlord or other entities to necessary work is completed. The Manager will ensure that the Brown premises are well maintained and SSL building common areas are maintained to appropriate standards as outlined in the lease and in conjunction with the operating budget. The Manager will lead the Brown SSL Building Management Council which will meet periodically to review building operations. Act as single point of contact with the landlord for Brown departments for coordination of building services, repairs, etc. Communicate all critical building information in a timely manner to internal stakeholders. The Manager will oversee security & access within Brown space. Develop and implement facility emergency plans and maintains the plans for fire evacuation and disaster response. Serve as the facility emergency response coordinator. Work with EH&S to ensure hazardous materials are managed per Brown standards. Liaise with Parking & Transportation on issues related to SSL parking and shuttle services. The Manager will, in conjunction with the Building Management Council, Facilities Management Department and the Provostâ??s Space Committee, manage allocation of excess space and use of common areas and conference rooms. The incumbent will manage office/workstation Moves, Add, Changes (MACs) and support building renovations within SSL.
Requires a Bachelorâ??s degree plus 5-7 years of facility management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic understanding of building systems and building service contracts. Strong planning, management and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Must have strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate a strong client service orientation; should be extremely customer focused on both internal and external customers and enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds. Must be flexible with a high sense of accountability and responsibility. Must have organizational skills and excellent with details and follow-up. Must be able to manage multiple detailed tasks. Must be able to work independently, be proactive and take initiative. Willingness to be available on weekends or evenings when/if necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
