Assistant Director, Patrons Circle & Junior Council
The American Museum of Natural History's Institutional Advancement department seeks an Assistant Director, Patrons Circle & Junior Council.
The Assistant Director will be responsible for working collaboratively with the Director, Major Gifts and Patrons Circle and the Development team to grow the Museum's high-level and young professional membership programs. The incumbent will develop and implement a new, multi-channel marketing strategy to drive membership acquisition, renewals, and upgrades for these programs. S/he will also manage the Junior Council's volunteer leaders and oversee that program's day-to-day operations.
This is an opportunity for an adaptable relationship manager with marketing and digital expertise to help lead and grow our Junior Council and Patrons Circle programs. The Assistant Director will play an important role in cultivating current and future generations of Museum supporters and leaders. The Assistant Director will:
Assess, revise, and expand current acquisition, renewal, and upgrade tactics for the Patrons Circle (PC) and Junior Council (JC) programs, guided by best practice and in consultation with peers inside and outside of the Museum.
Meet with and solicit PC and JC members and prospects to increase membership upgrades and new memberships.
Manage membership volunteers.
Act as liaison for JC members with the Museum and its programs, including providing concierge service as needed for those whose relationships s/he manages.
Execute JC events and programs.
Devise and implement a digital and social media strategy for Junior Council communications and marketing; this may include collaborations with other young professional membership groups and meet-up opportunities in NYC.
The Assistant Director will report to the Director, Major Gifts and Patrons Circle. S/he will work immediately alongside three other staff members on the Director's team and as part of the larger Individual Giving team within the Museum's Department of Institutional Advancement.
