Director of Leadership Giving (Major Gift Officer 3)-(160001D8)
Universityof Maryland, Baltimore School of Pharmacy is conducting a search for aqualified candidate to serve as Director of Leadership Giving.
Thedirector of leadership giving is responsible for the identification,cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of leadership gift donors fromindividuals, corporations, and foundations primarily at the $10,000 level andabove. The director of leadership giving reports to the associate dean ofdevelopment and alumni affairs.
Identify,cultivate, solicit and steward leadership gifts for the School of Pharmacy,managing an assigned list of approximately 200 leadership prospects and donors,with an expectation of completing 10 or more solicitations per month.
Increasethe number of donors who are outside the scope of the Annual Fund to support anupcoming capital campaign, endowed scholarships and important programmaticareas .
Play an active role in the planning and implementation ofregional leadership giving receptions.
Serve as an ambassador of the School at key donor and alumnievents, including on-campus weekends and evening events such as Homecoming& Reunion Weekend, Commencement, as well as selected national and regionalevents.
Performs other duties and special projects as required orrequested.
Experience:Five (5) years of development experience with at least two(2) years in fund-raising.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Possess knowledge of best practicesin non-profit fundraising, major gifts, reporting and receipting requirementsand corporate and foundation relations in non-profit fundraising.Able to perform position in compliance withall requirements, regulations, and laws.Ability to maintain high standards with the work being performed;Ability to manage more than one project simultaneously and a demonstratedrecord of completing assignments; and ability to maintain awareness withemerging trends, industry practices, and influences with assigned area.Assumes personal responsibility for alloutcomes; makes effective and timely decisions; and learns how to effectivelyuse technology.Maintains productivityand uses knowledge strategies to increase knowledge base.
Ability to proficiently communicateboth verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts.Interprets and understands writteninformation and is able to listen attentively to verbal and non-verbal cuesthat lead to a deeper understanding.
Ability to work collaboratively andstrategically with others and demonstrates professional, ethical, respectful,and courteous behavior when interacting with others.Capable of interacting pleasantly andpositively with other to meet customer expectations and cultivate newprospects, and provide follow up with customers.
Availability and willingness to workevenings, weekends and outside standard business hours as necessary.
