Essential Functions: JOB PURPOSEDesign, integrate, implement and optimize applications that require the use of multiple tools and technologies. Maintain and manage IT infrastructure based on customer need and technological availability. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvide server administration and maintenance for File Server (Windows based), active directory, Web Server (IIS), Database Server (Oracle and MySQL).Work with customers to define information requirements for the implementation of potential applications: research available tools and technologies to determine best solutions; conduct cost/benefit and feasibility analyses and provide recommendations on alternative solutions. Develop or acquire, test and implement new or enhanced integrated applications. Document the various software applications for reference by technical staff and end-users.Work with ERP (Ellucian Advance) to design and implement new processes or modify and enhance existing processes based on customer requirements and business needs.Train end-users on the integrated applications to ensure optimal use and provide ongoing support.Troubleshoot hardware (desktops, laptops, mobile devices and other peripherals), software and network as required. Adhere to confidentiality and data usage policy for the division.Perform related work as assigned.
Qualifications: EDUCATIONBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in computer science, information systems or related field.EXPERIENCEMinimum of 4 years experience working with relational data and database management systems. Basic knowledge of PL/SQL and other query languages.Knowledge of Windows Servers, MySQL and other web tools.Knowledge of network security.Experience with Ellucian Advance and other enterprise administrative systems preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESReasonable knowledge and understanding of University policies and procedures.COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS: Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally both orally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills are a must. PLANNING AND ORGANIZATION: Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines. Strong organizational and time-management skills.ANALYTICAL AND PRESENTATION SKILLS: Ability to evaluate, interpret, and present complex information effectively in professionally prepared documents or presentations. Must possess a demonstrated attention to detail in order to achieve a high degree of accuracy.TECHNICAL SKILLS: Proficient in the use of complex administrative systems software, preferably in the higher education environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Access, Word and Excel. LEARNING AGILITY: Independent and innovative self-starter who displays an ability to learn quickly and easily adapts to changing situations. Experience researching topics to gain knowledge and understanding when information gaps exist.TEAMWORK: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues within the division and other units to gain full understanding of the project and desired outcome; ability to produce high quality and consistent results with assistance of team members; provide support to teammates when tackling complex projects.
