Essential Functions and responsibilities: Project work: • Demonstrates understanding of pulling together fixtures and lamp specifications as directed • Able to cut sheet development as required by measured specifications • Performs development and execution of detailed work to include but not limited to aiming angle studies, cove details, reading drawings, creating mock-ups, design control and dimming, kinetic features, documentation for control systems, product testing, wiring diagrams, etc. • Participate in project and team meetings by engaging, asking questions and taking notes • Attend and participate in charrette sessions • Contribute to and assemble presentations that include but not limited to imagery, complete detail sketches, general understanding of layout of presentation, basic understanding of rendering work, concept development, etc. • Demonstrates understanding and use of IC equipment such as; light meters, cameras, scanners, Demo and testing equipment, etc. • Ensures organization of incoming hard copy and electronic project documentation • Collaborate with CAD to implement red lines • Develop and coordinate Bill of materials (BOM) and fixture take offs for each project • Contribute to work breakdown structure development and process • Execute mockups as directed • Seek guidance and support when situations become overwhelming or insight is needed • Knowledgeable with IC design process by proactively progressing into next steps of project design • Obtain and manage sample of fixtures and materials
General: • Familiarity with manufacturers product offerings (lamps and fixtures) as it relates to preliminary research with manufacturer technical specifications, value engineering efforts and alternative searches • Basic understanding of power, fixture performance (reflector vs. open lamp). Etc. • Energy code understanding • Access continuing education and or training opportunities appropriate for further career development, to include but not limited to lunch and learns • Travel (in and out of town) for meetings for apprentice level role in project meetings and on site fixture focus • Developmental marketing skills that include ability to explain who IC is, our company history and current portfolio • Developmental presentation skills that include ability to explain your work to internal & external team members • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications | Education and/or Experience: Required • 1-3 years’ experience in a field related to design or construction environment • Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions (word process, outlook, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.) • Strong organizational and analytical skills; oral and written communication skills • Must have or have the capability to obtain a non-expired U.S. passport within 90 days of being hired
Preferred • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, architecture/interior design, theatrical/state design or construction field • Associates degree in architecture/interior design or related field • Experience working with ACAD/Revit, AGi32, Photometry program, Adobe suite, and/or InDesign
