Hospital: PORTER ADVENTIST HOSPITAL
Position is responsible for liaison between Central Business Office (CBO) and Hospital staff for the purpose of addressing billing issues. Monitors HOT LINE REFFERALS and inquiries from patients, CBO, and physicians daily. Conducts charge audits on charges that are in question using Health Information Management staff and Clinical Nurse Auditor as a resource to resolve issues. Able to work with ancillary departments on charge description and code compliance. Analyzes and resolve billing issues on daily Medipac error reports and Common Working File billing logs.
High School diploma or equivalent
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2 year experience in hospital billing, admitting, or medical records
Basic Computer / Word Processing Skills; Ten-Key by touch
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and customer relations skills. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of system personnel.
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
POSITION DUTIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
CHARGE AUDITING/BILLLING DUTIES
Logs calls daily, resolves issues and provides adequate follow-up to caller within three working days
Acts as resource and liaison with Central Billing Office (CBO) on billing compliance and charge issues by promptly responding and researching queries.
Works error reports from Medipac and Common Working File daily by analyzing, researching, resolving, and providing necessary feedback to department managers, CBO, and Charge Audit Supervisor.
Resolves billing complaints on services rendered, charged, or cancelled at the request of physicians, patients, or
Hospital Customer Service Representative. Works with HIM and nurse auditor to validate findings. Provides adequate feedback
Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
Responds to routine inquiries and makes decisions for their proper disposition.
This position will be located at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO for the first 6 months then this person will have the option of working at the location of Porter Hospital. This position supports Mountain North and South Denver Operating Groups within the Centura Health System.
