Under the general direction of the Primary Care Physicians and the Practice Administrator, the N.P. or PA-C provides care designed to meet adult patient care needs within the established practice guidelines and those of the physicians.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Practitioners granted core privileges in walk-in clinic care will provide services to patients in the walk-in clinic setting. The practitioner will routinely interact with patients as the walk-in clinic care provider. Services include, but are not limited to, the following:
General patient examination and care involving observation, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patientsï¿½ clinical problems and health care needs.
Performing preventive health care counseling and instructs patients and/or families on treatment plans
Documents patient care services by charting in patient record according to EMR processes and guidelines
Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections, IV medications, suturing, managing wounds and infections
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Complies with federal, state and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Provides information, educational opportunities and experiential growth to health care team staff.
Maintains effective relationships with patients, demonstrating bedside manner consistent with SJH Mission

Education, Experience and Licensure/Certification Requirements : Requirements are representative of the minimum level of knowledge, skills and/or abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position
- Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner by the MT State Board of Nursing; Prescriptive Authority by the Montana State Board of Nursing and DEA License
- Maintains current licensure as a Physician Assistant-Certified by the MT state Board of Medical Examiners; Prescriptive Authority by the MT State Board of Medical Examiners and DEA License
- Must have completed at least two years of ACGME accredited residency program and is currently enrolled in an ACGME accredited residency program or has diploma from an ACGME accredited school.
- Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service oriented environment
- Experience in understanding and usage of computers, including the EHR as well as the ability to learn applications relevant to the position

Medium-Lifting 50 lbs maximum with frequent lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs
