UWC has an outstanding opportunity for a Data Reporting Analyst.
UWC is a self-sustaining, mid-sized organization within the University of Washington and has 250 full- and part-time staff. While our financial processes are currently very manual, we have a new initiative to improve efficiency and accuracy through coded reports and automated statements.
The Data Reporting Analyst is a member of the UWC Finance team and is primarily responsible for continuous expansion and improvement of the financial reporting capabilities of our financial analyst group through the creation and maintenance of coded reports, dashboards, and visualization. The Data Reporting Analyst will proactively seek out understanding of our data resources and will provide a moderate level of creative insights to workaround roadblocks.
Success in this role requires the ability to collaborate with colleagues to examine and understand the financial reporting needs of UWC, while respecting the thoughts and opinions of colleagues; to identify and implement the use of analytics tools to provide insight into our organizational- and program-level health; and to maintain professional and respectful relationships.
Processes, Tools, and Dashboards
Function as an expert in understanding UW and UWC data sources.
Design, implement, and administer analytic tools that pull data from the right sources to automate the creation of financial reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
Leverage analytic tools and the knowledge of financial analysts to automate profit & loss, budget vs actual, financial metrics, and key performance indicators. (KPI)
Create and maintain procedural and best-practice documentation.
Train colleagues on the use of analytic tools to run reports in support of financial analysis.
Utilize UW and UWC data sources to run reports, analyze financial data, and draw insights.
Ensure accuracy, integrity, and availability of data to answer inquiries from leadership and campus partner.
Provide investigative data analysis to identify trends and correlation to support management decision making.
Develop and improve upon templates for financial-related activities, such as budgeting.
Participate as a member of the analyst team to continuously innovate, improve practices, procedures, and services provided to the University.
