This is a full-time, exempt/salary position on the UCHealth Medical Group Professional Coding team. You may be based in Denver, Colorado Springs or Loveland. Travel among all UCHealth Medical Group sites will be required.
Summary--Coding Educator, Professional Coding
Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of coding staff, providers and other clinicians.
Collaborates with managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff. Identify issues for education and training for staff and providers.
Designs, delivers, and assesses learning activities and curriculums related to competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of information technologies.
Serves as a consultant/mentor for staff in areas of program development, and professional development.
Serves as liaison between coding department and the billing office, patient access, quality, compliance, providers, clinicians and practice managers.
Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of new staff orientation and education activities.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years coding, training or auditing experience
- 1 certification from the acceptable options as defined by Coding Department, within 1 year of hire
