The Maintenance Manager provides daily oversight of all functional and operational activities in maintenance of facility, equipment and machinery. This position will operate and maintain a two aircraft department located in Milwaukee, WI. In addition to aircraft maintenance, this position will require experience in managing others and involve some international travel.
Works within company Flight Operations to maintain a culture of safety with efficient procedures that support customer service.
Responsible for the quality of the maintenance program.
Responsible to ensure that only properly certificated, trained and qualified personnel perform maintenance on company aircraft.
Responsible to ensure that all company maintenance personnel are fully trained and competent to perform their duties. Complete annual performance evaluations for all subordinate employees.
Develop programs for Aircraft Technician proficiency training, in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration and company requirements.
Responsible to ensure that all required manuals are current, available and accessible.
Ensure the quality of the aircraft, engine, and avionics maintenance and repair is performed in accordance with company standards and FAA requirements, with efficient and timely scheduling.
Create and maintain annual maintenance operating budget. Monitor and control expenses in the maintenance department. Approve invoices for timely payment.
Responsible for adequate spares and ground support equipment inventories
Maintain appropriate records as required by the Code of Federal Regulations, manufacturer and Company policies.
Provide the Dispatcher with maintenance forecasts to assist in scheduling aircraft.
Create and effective working relationship with all department employees, especially the Manager, Flight Operations to achieve optimum support of the trip schedule considering equipment, personnel and other resources. Develop policies and procedures that foster cooperation between crewmembers and technicians to obtain mutual goals.
Procure and maintain a personal set of tools to accomplish aircraft maintenance tasks.
Maintain valid licenses and certifications required to perform maintenance tasks.
Responsible for the timely completion of all preflight and post flight servicing and maintenance requirements trouble shooting and repairs, inspections, preventive maintenance and general upkeep of Company aircraft.
Away from home base maintenance, coordinate with flight crews, the location and status of the aircraft, provide assistance in trouble shooting discrepancies and completing MEL procedures. Schedule maintenance work and expedite parts deliveries. Arrange for qualified maintenance providers and method of payment.
Provide onsite staff supervision of inspections, overhauls, modification or other major or extended maintenance procedures.
Assist in the selection, indoctrination, training and upgrade for maintenance department personnel.
Supervise maintenance personnel. Ensure that all personnel understand the objectives of the Fight Operations.
Responsible for the cleanliness and general upkeep of the hangar facility, and equipment.
Responsible for the maintenance and safe operation of the departmental fuel farm including supply.
Remain informed on aircraft, systems and components, and maintenance related equipment, products and services. Assist the Manager, Flight Operations in planning for the acquisition or modification of aircraft and equipment.
Maintain material safety data sheets on all relevant materials.
Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Flight Operations.
