Under the direction of the Associate Director, Governance assist with Governance and OED as directed. Review and update the governance sections of the AGD Web site. Maintain and update all information for the Board, Executive Committee (EC), councils, committees and task forces through iMIS. Create agendas, prepare materials for electronic meeting workbooks for the Board and EC, take concise minutes, prepare and distribute electronically. Review, maintain and update policy manuals as approved by the Board. Assist with organization activities and special projects as directed.
Five to seven years professional office experience with at least two years of senior level administrative support. Association experience, particularly in Governance or Advocacy desirable.
The ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with AGD members and officers and present a positive image of AGD through these communications.
Possess strong project and personality management skills, exceptional organizational skills, customer service driven, and excellent oral and written communications skills with good spelling, outstanding proofreading and grammatical skills.
Demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail, ability to multi-task and understand the meaning of confidentiality.
Possess advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, experience with a Content Management System and the ability and willingness to learn new software and programs as required.
Must be able to type 55 words per minute at minimum.
Must be flexible and deadline oriented, proactive and be able work independently.
Must work overtime as needed inclusive of but not limited to: traveling out of state for Board/EC/Annual meetings, at least two times a year; participate in bi-weekly conference calls outside of traditional work hours; and work occasional Saturdays for organization meetings.
Experience in hosting in-house meetings is preferred, but not required.
