The Curie and Da Vinci (CurVinci) living-learning communities (LLCs), which is half of the inVenTs LLC housed in Lee Hall, is seeking a motivated, outgoing individual with experience in the sciences to work with the community director and STEP program coordinator. The position involves working with graduate assistants and students in the Studio workshop spaces, especially with the CurVinci Studio Projects, and student leaders of the CurVinci communities. This position also involves management of the mentoring portion of the community programming with student community leaders. Time commitment: average of 20 hours per week with some work in the evenings and on weekends.
-Experience with living-learning communities.
-Experience working in the sciences or science education.
-Willingness to be trained to use the large equipment in the studio spaces (MediaScape, 3D printer, laser cutter/engraver, microscope, Milling router, and ModelMaker device) and use shop tools (e.g., miter saw, drill press, cordless drill). Previous experience with these tools is a plus but NOT required.
-Completion of or willingness to complete EHSS and OSHA health and safety trainings.
-B.S. in a STEM field or equivalent training and/or experience.
-Experience working with large undergraduate projects.
-Event planning experience.
