Pleasant View Gardens - one of the founding members of Proven Winners, the #1 Plant Brand - is looking to expand our sales team in the Southeastern Region in the US. We pride ourselves on Growing Success, by developing relationships with our customers, while ensuring success with our products and programs. This position requires targeting new accounts, increasing existing accounts’ purchases, and working in concert with Broker/Distributor Representatives, while promoting both PVG and Proven Winners’ marketing objectives.
• Target potential accounts and increase existing customers’ purchases, with a heavy focus on prospecting and cold calls • Introduce, define, expand and maintain the existence of Pleasant View and Proven Winners brands in the marketplace • Develop written sales plan with a minimum increase of 10% annually • Develop an understanding of our customers’ businesses and put together plans to grow their business with continued success with the Proven Winners brand • Work closely with Top Accounts and Key Broker Reps • Personal visits and travel with broker representatives to customer sites • Build relationships and actively sell via telephone, mail, email, customer visits, tours, events and trade shows • Evaluate new market opportunities • Provide direction in liner sales planning • New product development in conjunction with Sales and Marketing departments • Work with customers’ sales team to help them sell our products
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to travel up to 70% of the time • Strong sales background with track record of setting and meeting sales goals • Active listener with strong written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrate ability to handle customer related issues which involves researching, investigating, determining appropriate resolution and follow-through in action and communication • Highly organized, results-driven individual with exceptional time management skills • Possesses a strong sense of initiative and accountability • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and self-motivation skills required • Proficiency with Excel, Access and other Microsoft Office suite applications and ability to learn new software • Ability to work in a manner that exhibits trust and integrity with colleagues, customers and sales representatives
• Associate Degree or equivalent in marketing, sales and/or horticulture preferred • 3-5 years sales experience with verifiable track record • Previous horticultural background preferred
