We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Assistant.
We are developing a New York region cohort focused on the microbiome. The Project Assistant will be responsible for providing study/program support and assist with recruitment activities, reporting directly to the Senior Research Coordinator.
The NYU FAMiLI Study is designed to improve our understanding of the role of human microbiome in health and disease. This study will serve as a critical NYU biorepository resource for research on human genetics and the microbiome in health and disease.
- Conduct other project support activities, as needed.
- Clerical Functions: Organize, send, receive and manage participant kits. Conduct/Respond to phone calls from study participants. Receive participant authorization forms in order to obtain their medical records and stored samples of tumor tissue.
- Reports: Collect participant information for study enrollment and retention. Process received samples and record/track specimens in database. Ensure security of all study files. Work with data manager on special projects and quality control measures. Update weekly reports
- Project Support: provides project support to supervisor and other members of the research team. Assist with recruitment of participants from partner sites. Assist with logistical planning of recruitment events. Conduct follow-up calls with participants and the public; administer phone questionnaires in English or Spanish when needed. Assist in the development of a plan for Hispanic community recruitment when needed.
- To qualify you must have a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 1 year related experience in an office setting, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual: English / Spanish (fluent in reading, writing, speaking).
- Detail-oriented and organized. Excellent oral communication and multi-tasking skills.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of standard office practices.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Previous experience in human subjects research.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
