We are seeking a Commodity Risk Management Specialist to join our Logistics Demand Planning and & Risk team, based in our Sydney Head Office. The purpose of this role is to manage a derivative product (relating to freight) for Wheat and quality risk exposure. This is in the Storage and Logistics division of GrainCorp, reporting to the Risk and Planning Manager.
On a daily basis this role will see you assisting the Senior Management and the Logistics team with understanding current and future financial and product quality risks that relate to customer demands and managing internal and external conflicting priorities.
Additionally, the role's responsibility includes creating reports and presenting to senior management relating to risk exposures, supply and demand profiles of domestic and export consumers and developing strategies to mitigate exposures. Experience across commodities (especially the grains industry) would be highly regarded along with a strong understanding of market dynamics.
The successful candidate will be highly numerical with advanced Excel skills and strong experience in analysing data.You will be an excellent communicator who is able to proactively negotiate with stakeholders and influence decision making. It is also imperative that you demonstrate a commercial understanding of risk exposures and the ability to provide practical solutions. You must be comfortable in working both autonomously and in a collaborative team environment.
