Posting Summary: The Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for an Administrative Coordinator position to provide support to the faculty, students and leadership of the department. This position will support the department by providing or assisting with the administrative functions of the undergraduate and graduate programs, the diversity and inclusion operations, human resources operations, and general administrative support to faculty.
This position has an end date of June 1, 2018, and as defined by UVA policy, is a restricted position.
Required Minimum Level of Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Preferred Minimum Level of Education: *Degree or Equivalent Experience Preferred
Preferred Specific Degree/Training: Bachelor's Degree in a business related field is preferred
Required Minimum Level of Experience: Some - up to 4 years
Required Specific Experience: At least 1 year of administrative experience is required. Additional education may substitute for some experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The incumbent will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organization skills and the ability to multitask are required. The ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, under deadline pressures, is required. Ability to work productively with a diverse constituent population. Ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality is required.
Required Computer Applications: Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word). Familiarity with internet navigation is required.
Preferred Computer Applications: Website development software experience preferred
