There is also capacity for 8 telemetry patients. Patient care needs are identified through the interdisciplinary team and involve assessment of the patient and interaction with the family members, physician and nursing staff Summary of Essential Job Duties: The scope of responsibility, duty and accountability at the facility department and position levels including knowledge and practice of the clinical/Technical skills necessary to the position consistent with nurse practice act. Nursing job duties are to meet the nurse practice Act title 22. Joint commission and the plan for provision of nursing care and the plan for provision of care to patients, and other regulatory requirements. Provides and documents direct and indirect patient care services that ensure the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients, provides care and patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures, provides direct and indirect patient care services, include, but not limited to, the administration of medications and therapeutic agents necessary to implement the treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of care, performs skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy and the initiation of peripheral venous access. Observe signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, general appearance to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics. Plans and implements with care based on observations. Implements appropriate reporting, referrals and care in accordance with standardized procedures. Initiates emergency procedures when indicated. provides care to special patient populations and patients with diverse culture backgrounds. Identifies patient's readiness for learning and ability to follow directions/instructions and give consent. Identifies and assesses patient safety concerns with respect to age and developmental considerations. Intervenes to provide a safe environment and evaluates effectiveness of intervention for patients. Qualification Requirements/Preferences: Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred). Current BLS for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association. National Specialty Certifications preferred At least one year experience as RN in acute care setting, preferably in specialty. Must be able to perform assigned duties in a demanding work environment.
