The vision of the College of Education is to become a recognized national leader in the advancement of research and practice on equity, access, and advocacy through the preparation of scholars, practitioners, and innovators. Faculty in the College strive to prepare educational and human service leaders who create, use, and share knowledge in local, state, national, and global communities. This position is housed in the Office of Student Success and Educator Engagement, which is responsible for providing direct supplemental services focused on recruitment, retention, student success, and undergraduate candidate professional development.

The position requires a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Education, Special Education, Inclusive Education, Educational Leadership, School Administration, or a closely related discipline. The candidate must possess a current valid North Carolina teaching license in elementary education (grades K-6). The candidate must have the ability to collaborate with multiple partners and must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills as well as an awareness of and comfort with issues of diversity, specifically on race, class, socioeconomic status, gender, and exceptionalities. The candidate must have a minimum of five years teaching experience in a P-12 public school.
Emphasis is placed on candidates who demonstrate evidence of positive impact on student growth (i.e., EVAAS data) as a classroom teacher within the last three years. A candidate who possesses National Board Certification is preferred.
