The Pittsburgh Technology Council is seeking a business development professional with strong experience in B2B sales to help us identify, secure and retain member firms that can benefit from our services.
Founded more than 30 years ago, the Pittsburgh Technology Council has a mission to support the success of regional technology businesses. To achieve this goal, we offer four key services:
- Talent Acquisition: Through our career connector and other services, the Council provides direct talent attraction support to more than 500 companies.
- Business Development: Pittsburgh businesses from the fields of Life Sciences, Information Technology and Advanced Manufacturing are developing innovative solutions that are solving complex global problems. The Council prides itself on creating opportunities to connect local firms with national markets and customers.
- Public Policy Advocacy: The Council seeks to represent the interests of regional innovation businesses relative to policies that impact the regional workforce, business taxation/regulation and the economic development of the Pittsburgh region.
- Visibility: To create greater awareness about specific technology businesses as well as collective regional technology capabilities, the Council produces multiple publications, hosts a weekly radio show and works to engage the national media on behalf of our members.
In support of that mission, the Council seeks an experienced sales executive who can help to enroll those businesses that can directly benefit from one of our four key services.
In pursuit of this goal, the business development director will prospect new leads, respond to incoming inquiries, meet with prospective new members, educate them on the benefits of the PTC and complete the registration of PTC members.
As a part of member service and retention sales, the Manager will serve as the primary point of contact and internal champion for assigned accounts by creating an action-oriented engagement plan which includes working collaboratively and inclusively across the entire organization to drive outcomes for our members; providing information on PTC programs and services, benefits of membership; and by answering questions and connecting members with appropriate PTC resources.
