Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Supervising Accountant for the Finance department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Supervises the financial / management reporting and day-to-day accounting functions in assigned area of Finance.
Implements internal controls, and ensures transactions are in accordance with GAAP and complies with regulatory requirements.
Supervises billing and receivables to unrestricted revenue sources and donations, partner affiliates, and performs fiscal control over certain expenses.
Creates effective work plans and provides supervision and training for staffs to achieve competency of work performance and understanding of financial reporting functions.
Home Location Campus: Downtown New Brunswick
Prior supervision/lead experience preferred.
Experience in a health care or academic environment is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of financial database systems and reporting tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint Required
Effective oral and written communication skills Required.
Outstanding human relations and leadership skills, the ability to function in a team environment and demonstrated knowledge of how to accomplish superior performance in a unionized environment and maintaining confidentiality is required.
