Responsible for processing account payments, updating insurance and demographic information, researching payments, rebilling insurance when updates have been provided, and working with other departments to achieve resolution, including adjustments and insurance follow-up.
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum Experience Requirements
1 year healthcare experience required Billing experience preferred Comprehensive understanding of insurance billing and follow-up practices preferred
Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )
■Answers all incoming calls to the billing office from patients to resolve account issues.*
■Researches outstanding accounts and partners with peers to ensure accuracy of bills and timely resolution of issues.*
■Utilizes excellent communication skills to explain bills and recoup payments from patients.*
