Basic Function: Under the direction of the Clinical Director, this position helps coordinate the work of the Clinical Team, provides training and support to team members and provides a broad range of clinical interventions to agency clients in multiple programs. This is an Exempt position.
Coordinates referrals and work assignments to clinical team
Provides direct clinical and administrative supervision, training and oversight as needed to clinical team members
Helps develop service delivery protocols, procedures and systems
Helps strengthen and develop clinical programming and interventions within the agency
Provides individual and group counseling or psychotherapy to clients and/or families at one or more of Volunteers of America of Illinois’ Veterans housing properties, in-home to children and families in our foster care program, or at the main office site
Demonstrates analytical and psychosocial diagnostic skills and resourcefulness in developing treatment processes utilizing agency approved treatment modalities
Acts upon own analysis of client situations under decreasing supervision
Reports progress on case load to supervisor; makes written evaluation reports on the progress of each client and performs record keeping functions required by the agency.
Participates in agency studies of particular problems or casework practices
Contributes to clinical staffings for foster care or veteran clients
Conducts in-service trainings to service delivery staff
Delivers services with sensitivity to the clients’ cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
Maintains VOA’s current relationships with local area social work schools to maintain active intern program
Develops, oversees and supervises interns in their work with clients and coordinates with each student’s school advisor
Works with supervisor to develop quality internship programs and networks in local area to create new relationships with social work schools for intern recruitment
Upholds and actively demonstrates investment in the mission and values of Volunteers of America of Illinois

Position requires a Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university. LCSW or LCPC licensure required (or will be eligible for licensure at least 90 days after hire).
Two years of post-graduate clinical experience
Four years of pre-graduate and post-graduate combined experience
Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle
Demonstrated skill in basic computer operations with a proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preference will be given to a Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces
