Wesleyan University has approximately 2,900 undergraduate and 100 graduate students. The office of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) operates on a weekday schedule of 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM with limited evening availability as well as 24/7 access through an on-call rotation. Outreach is included in the services provided and is essential to the CAPS program. CAPS provides education, consultation, and training services to student groups, faculty, and administrators.
Reporting to the director of CAPS, the part-time psychotherapist will provide individual and group psychotherapy for students presenting with a wide range of diagnoses, as well as consultation to students, administrators, faculty, and staff.
Provide individual and group psychotherapy for students presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns, as well as consultation to students, administrators, faculty, and staff.
Provide education, outreach, and training services to student groups, faculty, and administrators (deans, residence life, public safety, etc).
Work with student groups (and others) helping to effectively develop programs of interest.
Provide supervision to trainees.
Participate in on-call rotation.
Maintain clinical case files in accordance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
Work one evening per week to meet the limited evening availability CAPS offers.
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
This position works 20 hours per week for 34 weeks per year.
