Tufts Universityseeks an innovative and strategic thinker with a broad vision for the role ofdiversity in achieving institutional excellence. The CDO will preferablypossess an advanced degree (ideally, an earned doctorate or equivalent terminaldegree) and a strong academic sensibility; it would be desirable to have anaccomplished record of teaching and scholarship that might warrant an academicappointment. The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of theoryand practice with regard to organizational diversity and inclusion, humandevelopment, training and change management; knowledge of the academy; anexcellent track record in managing change, and proven experience as anorganizational leader and program builder, particularly around initiatives thatpromote diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and dialogue around socialjustice. The successful candidate will demonstrate cultural flexibility, becomfortable building relationships of trust with the various communities andconstituencies that comprise the University, and be astute at navigating acomplex landscape.
