Under the general supervision of the Neuro Institute ambulatory leadership, provides administrative ambulatory service coordination functions to the clinic or department. Assists with referral, authorization, and patient scheduling services to the benefit of the patient's seeking care in Neuro Institute clinics. Works closely with authorization team members, call center staff, and clinical staff to ensure proper authorization and optimizes patient scheduling and access to the neuro clinics.
Utilizes reports to indicate and track pertinent information. Serves as a liaison to health plans, departments, internal and external business offices, and other departments. Maintains constant communication with department individuals and patients. Prepares reports, tracks data, and prepares presentations for clinic and department about referral activity protocols, patient scheduling, and changes. Monitors compliance of requirements. Job standards are to be performed at the EXPERT level.
Three (3) years of experience related to patient access functions, authorizations, referral management, and or patient scheduling.
Must possess a High School diploma; or equivalent.
Must have knowledge of Medical Terminology.
Understands all insurance types (PPO's, Commercial, Point of Service, HMO's, Military, Medi-Cal, MediCare, Medical-Managed Care, etc.).
Associates Degree or higher.
Knowledge of IDX, PCIS, EPIC.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
