The UW School of Law currently has an outstanding opportunity for a BUDGET/FISCAL ANALYST.
Designing, developing, evaluating and interpreting financial information systems and budget/fiscal policies and procedures for management staff
Updating departmental policies and procedures internally and on the web, incorporating best practices and efficient work-flow to maximize customer satisfaction and compliance with sponsor and UW regulations
Analyze and maintain School wide budgets (state, revenue, self-sustaining, fellowship, research grants and contracts, discretionary, gifts and endowments)
Review and prepare invoices for payment
Use eTravel to enter expense reports and reimburse department travel and ensure compliance with state and institution regulations and procedures
Maintain all financial records for the department in compliance with state and institution regulations and procedures
Process Online Salary Expenditure Transfer (OSET) through MyFD as needed
Post Award Grant and Contract Management:
Monitor and coordinate closure/ expiring budgets. Work with Grant and Contract Accounting and Office of Sponsored Programs regarding grant and contract reports, extension requests and other grant matters
Utilizes Excel to prepare monthly financial reports for grant and contracts
Calculate FTE reallocation as needed in coordination with PI or Finance Manager to ensure timely appointment of employees
Strategic Planning and Analysis:
Conducting various statistical analyses and modeling involving fiscal/budget data;
Developing long-term planning documents in support of strategic goals;
Integrating and aligning activities with organizational direction/mission;
Participating in the planning of new programs by conducting analysis of unit needs and resources
Directing and reviewing work of departmental fiscal specialist.
Serves as backup payroll coordination
Training faculty and staff regarding UW and sponsor policies and procedures for various operations including travel and purchasing. Staying current on changes to UW and sponsor policy
Perform other related duties as assigned
A Bachelor's Degree with major study in accounting, business administration, or related field and two years of work experience as a Fiscal Specialist, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
