The Division of University Outreach and Engagement (Division) at Oregon State University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, fixed-term Education Coordinator. Reappointment will be at the discretion of the O&E Assistant Director for Open Campus and Innovation and the Coastal Oregon Regional Administrator. The position will be located in Tillamook and serve both Tillamook and Clatsop Counties.
The Division of University Outreach and Engagement (Division) at Oregon State University enhances access to enrichment and problem solving through reciprocal relationships for the exchange of knowledge and resources in partnership with individuals, communities, business, industries, government, and educational institutions.
OSU Open Campus is a partnership among Oregon State University, the Association of Oregon Counties, many of Oregon’s Community Colleges, regional economic development groups, the K-12 education systems, the business communities and local government. The goal of OSU Open Campus is to provide local access to learning that meets the needs of individuals, families, businesses, and communities.
This Coordinator will provide local leadership, coordination, and partnership development needed to advance and sustain the OSU Juntos Program.
Juntos is designed to empower Latino youth and families with knowledge, skills, resources to prevent students from dropping out of high school and build the path to college. From cradle to career, the program offers a variety of tools; Juntos curriculum, school clubs, workshops, camps, community service, internships, collaborative projects, and more.
This position will require traveling to meet with local officials, education and community agencies, employers and economic development staff, and individuals as well as to fulfill the general work requirements of this position.
Active and effective communication with staff and key stakeholders is critical to the success of this position and access to wireless services is necessary.

Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):
Typically requires Bachelor's Degree in field relevant to program focus. May require certification or licensure as appropriate to the position.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) and Bicultural. Ability to engage Spanish speaking audiences through the utilization of bi-literate and bicultural skills.
Bachelor's degree in Education, Education Administration, Adult Education, Extension Education, or related field
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills including the effective use of mass media.
Demonstrated ability to work as a team member with other professionals and volunteers.
Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with youth 5-19 years of age (Kindergarten through 12th grade) as well as adult learners.
Demonstrated ability to lead groups and to plan, organize, evaluate, manage, and delegate details associated with program and office management.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage competing time demands.
General ability to use common computer software, including proficiency with information technology, web sites and social media.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse audiences and to build community around culturally relevant programming.
Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member of a team.
A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and inclusion.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months. Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications including the Criminal History Check Requirement.
This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per OSU Standard 576-056-0000 et seq. Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications including the Motor Vehicle Check Requirement.
This position requires flexibility to work in a variety of settings and on evenings and weekends.
Travel will be required.
Duties may require carrying, lifting, and/or pulling educational materials and equipment, up to 30 lbs.
Salary (Minimum): $41,664
Salary (Maximum): $70,704
Additional Salary Information: Commensurate with Education and Experience
