The Department of Computer Science Electrical Engineering (CSEE)
The Department of Computer Science Electrical Engineering (CSEE), the School of Computing and Engineering (SCE) at the University of MissouriKansas City (UMKC) is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Computer Science at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, starting in August 2017. The ideal candidates will have expertise in conducting research in Cybersecurity: Information Security, Mobile Systems Security and Cyber-Physical Systems Security.
All candidates must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, or a closely related discipline, and preferably have earned their BS degree from an ABET-accredited program. The successful candidates will be expected to (1) have a strong commitment to teach courses in the department's undergraduate and graduate programs; (2) develop and maintain an outstanding record of scholarly activity, including an externally-funded research program; (3) engage in departmental, school, and/or university service activities appropriate to the position; and (4) advance the goals and strategic plan of SCE and UMKC. Competitive salaries commensurate with the rank of the position and qualifications will be offered.
PhD in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline
BS from an ABET accredited institution
Undergraduate and/or graduate teaching experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability and desire to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators
