The Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell delivers educational programming across six different MBA programs with the intent of developing highly successful and ethical business leaders of the future. Relying on the pillars of performance learning, a collaborative community and Cornell's vast connections, the Johnson faculty produce students equipped to excel in the current cross-functional, collaborative, digital economy.
The Admissions and Financial Aid team at the Johnson School is charged with attracting, selecting, and matriculating the highest caliber of diverse students in the MBA (Masters of Business Administration) and AMBA (Accelerated Masters of Business Administration) programs.
Directly reporting to the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid and with minimal supervision, the Admission and Application Manager supports the Admissions and Financial Aid team by serving as initial contact for prospective students interested in Cornell University's One-Year and Two-Year Ithaca MBA programs. S/he provides a high level of personalized service to inquiries and applicants by demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of application requirements, admissions policies, academic programs, career resources, and student activities across all Residential MBA programs. S/he educates prospective students on program options by conducting pre-application individual and group advisement, evaluating candidate qualifications, and connecting them with relevant university stakeholders. This individual provides a wide variety of administrative support to the Admissions Committee and Financial Aid team including database management and reporting support.
Specifically, the Admissions and Application Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate application records in Salesforce and ensuring that applications are prepared for committee evaluation according to strict deadlines and policies. In addition to a Two-Year Ithaca MBA applicant pool assignment this individual works closely with the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid to assist with the recruitment and enrollment of qualified One-Year MBA applicants via individual consultations, information sessions, eligibility verification, and yield activities.
Two years of college course work or an Associate's degree with two but less than five years of related work experience or equivalent.
Candidate must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain high level of confidentiality and professionalism. A successful candidate will anticipate the needs of applicants aligned with the goals of the office, and think critically and creatively about process solutions and operations management. S/he must take initiative on issues, pay close attention to detail, employ good judgment and decision making abilities, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and have the ability to work under pressure to meet time sensitive deadlines. Candidate must demonstrate mastery of technologies including but not limited to: Microsoft Suite, Salesforce, Linvio, Sumo, and Peoplesoft.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is highly preferred.
