The Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM) is committed to training and inspiring the next generation of health care leaders. The Senior Financial Administrator will be part of a team of grant administrators reporting to the Associate and Assistant Directors of Finance.
The successful candidate will: -Manage a diverse portfolio of sponsored research awards, managing both pre- and post-award functions, along with associated with on-sponsored funds. -Serve as the liaison between the investigators, the Harvard Chan Sponsored Programs Administration, and Harvard's Office for Sponsored Research, sponsors and subcontractors. -Participate in the fiscal year end closings and the annual budget process and salary administration plan. -Advise faculty on financial policies to ensure compliance with University, School, Department and sponsor regulations. -Other duties as assigned.

5+ years of experience, with 3+ years of those years in pre- and post-award management experience (both federal and non-federal), required; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
-Bachelor's degree in related field (e.g., accounting or finance) strongly preferred. -Intermediate work knowledge of Word and Excel software.
Strong financial/accounting skills and excellent time-management, interpersonal skills and communications skills are indispensable. Strong ability to prioritize tasks, along with attention to detail, is highly desirable. Knowledge of federal and non-federal sponsor regulations and strong federal grant management are a must. Experience with Harvard's financial systems is a plus. Graduate certificate in Research Administration is preferred.
