Job Description Summary:
The Financial Aid Services Counselor is responsible for representing the University and division of Enrollment Management and Student Services to current and perspective families with regard to access, affordability, and financing options.
Serving as both a counselor and processing/regulatory technician, the Financial Aid Services Counselor embodies the core values of the university in every aspect of his/her role working with internal and external constituencies.
This is a full-time position. Some evenings and weekend work required.
The counselor reports to the Director of Financial Aid Services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
A bachelor's degree in a related field.
A minimum of 1-year experience working in financial aid, student accounts or related experience.
Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt's core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
A positive and professional demeanor with a strong emphasis on customer service is a must.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with Banner financial aid module a plus.
Experience assisting students and families from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
