The Department of Pathology has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time, temporary Research Technologist 1.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Promislow lab is looking to fill a RESEARCH TECHNOLOGIST 1 position. This position will perform laboratory and investigative work in support of research on heavy metal resistance in fruit flies.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Prepare fly food with and without heavy metals.
Assay survival in different genotypes of flies. Maintain fly stocks.
Collect, verify and record data, compile information in support of this research program.
Help collate and organize data for monthly and quarterly grant reports.
Help maintain overall laboratory functionality by maintaining required laboratory certifications/paperwork, maintaining equipment, and ordering reagents.
Other reasonable duties that may arise while performing the outlined tasks.
Two years experience as a Laboratory Technician II, or equivalent; OR a Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of science or technology.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
