The Events Coordinator engages in planning, conceptualizing, implementing and managing full details of regional development donor events. This position will assist with principal gift development donor events, University, and Chancellor events. The fundamental goal is to increase community awareness, advocacy and financial support to the university. The Events Coordinator will also be responsible for access to or knowledge of academic and community protocol, donor and friend information, and event data bases.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
This individual must be self-motivated, proactive, creative and extremely organized with great attention to detail and able to multitask and prioritize a great number of tasks/projects each day often in a fast-paced environment interacting with a wide range of people. This individual must have excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills. This individual must be able to work relatively independently on many projects. This individual must be adept with budgeting and have the ability to track spending throughout the year. This position demands excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, administrative skills and willingness to stay on top of the latest upgrades as well as excellent knowledge of appropriate protocol.
This position requires a flexible schedule. Weeknight and weekend work are required throughout the year.
A minimum of 1-3 years of events experience. Knowledge of the University and its physical campus. Knowledge of food and beverage services.
