CHILD ABUSE PEDIATRICIAN
The Children’s Hospital of Greenville Health System University Medical Group seeks a full time BC or BE Child Abuse Pediatrician to join 1 full-time and 1 part-time MD, a Child Life Specialist and a Medical Social Worker in a practice with tremendous support services. This position serves an 8 county area in upstate SC and is part of a state-wide system (SCCAMRS) that provides peer review, data collection, lobbying support and funding. The position involves both inpatient and outpatient work with total volume last year just under 500 consults - approximately 60 of those were inpatient. Patients are seen at 2 advocacy centers, an outpatient assessment center for children coming into foster care and a follow up clinic for foster children. In addition, the practice provides full time consultation service for inpatient concerns of abuse and neglect. Call rotation is split 50/50. Strong team approach and good relationship with ancillary services (law enforcement, DSS) make this an ideal opportunity for qualified candidates. The Children’s Hospital includes a 12 bed PICU, 79 bed Level-3 NICU, and a dedicated Pediatric ER. With experienced doctors representing more than 35 pediatric specialties, GHS offers more comprehensive "whole child" care than many of the country's major medical centers.
GHS employs 15,000 people including 950+ physicians on staff. The system includes clinically excellent facilities with 1,662 beds on 7 campuses. We host 15 residency and fellowship programs, as well as one of the nation's newest 4-year medical education programs: University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville, located on GHS’ Greenville Memorial Medical Campus. We are a designated Level I Emergency Trauma Center and also have a separate research facility.
