| The City of Redmond is seeking a detail-oriented, records and technology savvy individual for our Records Management Specialist position. This position will be the City's go-to expert in records and information management, and will ensure compliance with City Code, State and Federal laws and regulations. The Records Management Specialist will work closely with City employees to provide advice and direction regarding records retention standards, policies, and procedures. |
Responsibilities will include: • Implement, organize, and manage the City's records and information management program including, but not limited to: creating and maintaining security and access controls, retention schedules, and classification plans; developing action tracking and workflows; and collecting data. • Develop, test, and evaluate the City's electronic records and information management system. • Participate in the records and information management contracting process, to include reviewing and evaluating contracts; assisting with developing requests for proposals; and participating in vendor negotiation and selection processes. • Participate in meetings, training opportunities, and professional organizations. • Manage financial-related functions of the records division; prepare the draft biennial records division budget in coordination with the City Clerk • Supervise the storage of citywide physical, electronic (including email), and microfilm records, and the off-site record storage centers. • Research and apply all applicable rules, regulations, and standards concerning records and information management for the State of Washington. • Serve as the City's technical records expert, providing training and instruction to employees on proper records management.
