Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (SIU SOM) in Springfield, Illinois is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology with a subspecialty focus in Neurocritical Care. As a member of the Department of Neurology at SIU SOM, the incumbent will represent the Department in a manner to enhance its patient care, educational, and research mission. This faculty member reports to the Chair of Neurology. The opportunity is approximately seventy-five percent clinical, ten percent teaching, ten percent research and five percent administration.

Highlights of the position and area include: Provide care of neurological and neurosurgical patients in intensive care units. This service will include ventilatory management, invasive monitoring, intra-cranial pressure management, neurological diagnosis and management, neuroimaging, neurotrauma and stroke management ICU patients. Mentor medical students, residents and other house staff in the proper care of treating patients with neurologic and neurosurgical diseases in the intensive care units. Required Qualifications: Board eligible/board certified in Neurology and board eligible/board certified in neurocritical care; or board certification in critical care medicine and in neurocritical care. Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the state of Illinois.
