Assistant Director, Early Engagement
The Ohio State University Alumni Association
The Assistant Director, Early Engagement is a great opportunity for those who have a background in higher education and are interested in expanding their skillset into advancement. The selected candidate will independently manage and be responsible for the strategies, segmentation within and relationship-building management of Ohio State students and young alumni for the purpose of expanding awareness of and advocacy for engagement with Ohio State. He/she will collaborate and create partnerships with appropriate Alumni Association, Advancement and university colleagues, and/or student volunteers to identify appropriate audiences and develop relative program and marketing strategies.
He/she will experience a fluctuating work schedule that will include evenings and weekends and occasional travel as dictated by the programs, events and activities of the position and is expected to exhibit the behaviors associated with the Office of Advancement's core competencies: Leadership, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork and Collaboration, and Communication/Interpersonal Effectiveness.
This area of responsibility is one component of the Alumni Relations team, which is part of a broader Advancement organization that combines and coordinates communication, engagement, and fundraising efforts. Advancement exists to support the university by increasing awareness of, engagement in, and giving to Ohio State. These efforts are all in service to the greater university vision: The Ohio State University will be the world's preeminent public comprehensive university, solving problems of world-wide significance.
Successful candidates will be expected to operate with a high degree of decision making capabilities, judgment, consistency, and discretion. They will be able to utilize MS Office programs, prioritize a high volume of work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and be skilled in managing and organizing their work and time.
A Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is a requirement for this position. The selected candidate must also possess 3 years of experience with program planning and administration and 2 years of experience serving as advisor to a student organization. Preference will be given to candidates with degrees in Higher Education, College Personnel, or a similar field as well as previous experience with Alumni Relations.

Target Salary: $47,500.00 - $53,000.00 Annually
