Provides computer and networking support to College personnel. Provides user training and installation of hardware and software. Diagnoses and resolves user problems. Provides guidance to users regarding computer hardware, software, databases, networks and laboratories. Performs other duties as assigned.
60% - Essential - Technical Support:Provides network support for College personnel, departments, and computer laboratories, including systems design, installation of hardware and software, and problem diagnosis and resolution according to established priority guidelines.
20% - Essential - Technical Training:Assists in the on-going training of IT student workers regarding needed technical knowledge and implementation of technical skills. Provides assistance in training for college personnel in access of University and Internet resources.
10% - Essential - Hardware and Software Management:Provides guidance to College personnel by evaluating hardware and software needs. Transfers information system requirements and plans to the college's team lead. Provides evidence of communication and finished products and reports.
10% - Essential - Compliance: Assists college's team lead in developing College standards and policies and procedures.
A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. A degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.
No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.
