The YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago, a 21st Century, business-savvy, social enterprise committed to “Eliminating Racism and Empowering Women,” is seeking an EARLY HEAD START FAMILY ADVOCATE SUPERVISOR. This is a fulltime, exempt position, reporting directly to the Early Head Start Director in Addison.
Overall Purpose: Plan, organize and implement the Family and Community Partnership service area under the general direction of the Early Head Start Director.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of EHS policies and procedures, changes and federal and state regulations
Work with family advocates to ensure ongoing recruitment and enrollment of children
Work with Family Advocates to develop and implement individualized Family Partnership agreements with parents
Act as a community liaison for the agency
Coordinate and monitors services performed by the Family Support Specialists to ensure the areas of eligibility, recruitment, selection, attendance and family and community engagement
Monitor ongoing reports of data and ensure accuracy
Meet requirements of the Head Start performance standards
Coordinate efforts with other program leaders to ensure the needs of all families are coordinated and met
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, social welfare, public administration, or one of the social sciences
Fluent in written and spoken English required; Bilingual in written and spoken Spanish preferred
Experience in human services program management, including program planning, operations & evaluation, and the use of management information systems
Ability to pass a health examination and a criminal background check
A demonstrated ability to work independently, while prioritizing and managing multiple assignments simultaneously as needed
Ability to travel locally and to work nights and weekends as needed
Ability to work collaboratively with individuals from various education, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds
