The Community Health Worker (Promotor de Salud) a Grant funded position conducts activities to improve the health outcomes of the Mexican and Latino community through health education, prevention and access to health care. Community Health Worker (Promotor de Salud) will work within the community organizations and in health care settings, empower community members to improve their health outcomes by providing culturally sensitive education and connections to primary care and community-based social and or health supports for Mexican Community Members and Families.
H.S. Diploma or GED
One year minimum of community involvement work. Experience working in the Latino community
Community Health Worker training. Knowledge of or experience working in the Latino community.
Proficient in Spanish and English.
Excellent communication skills, especially written and public speaking. Excellent team member. Able to manage time and set priorities. Strong communication & organizational skill. Computer knowledge necessary: Microsoft Office suites and internet. Must be highly motivated, self-initiated, and flexible; prepared to work evenings, Saturdays & Sundays.
