| ||Provides general expertise to management on all areas of HR, or may be responsible for select functions within HR including employment, planning, and development. May also be responsible for training and new employee orientation. Duties may include contract negotiation, labor agreements, promotes good employee relations, training development, safety, and health programs. Develops, implements, and coordinates policies and programs covering several of the following: employment, labor relations, wage and salary administration, orientation and training, placement, safety and health, benefits and employee services. Assists top management in planning, development, implementation and evaluation activities. Responsible for managing several human resources functions such as employment, labor relations, compensation, training, equal employment/affirmative action, records, safety and health, benefits and employee services. May manage human resources function for a business unit or line of business. |
Manages HR processes including on-boarding, 0ff-boarding, payroll, FMLA, leaves of absence, safety and worker's compensation, and unemployment claims processing
Advises management regarding company policies, procedures and employment laws and assists with decisions which support positive employee relations
Recommend continual improvements to policies and procedures to support business operations
Coordinates the annual performance review and merit process within assigned business unit
Facilitates HR-related training (e.g., new hire orientation, benefits meetings, safety/ergonomics, HR compliance, positive employee relations, etc.)
Conducts or oversees investigations and consults with legal counsel as necessary.
Develops, monitors and adheres to department annual budget
Supervises and develops subordinate staff
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field and 5+ years of human resources generalist experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience
1-2 years of management experience required
HR certification (PHR/SPHR) strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of HR principles and practices
Knowledge of labor law
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Organizational and project management skills
Ability to cope with change, stress and time demands
Skill and ability to solve problems and make decisions
Knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
