This position will be based at Poudre Valley Hospital, but will float to the Harmony ED, and one other department depending on skill sets.

Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Job duties Adhere to expected and established protocols related to patient safety goals, fall and skin precautions, restraint use, and medication administration. Practice according to professional and ethical standards in accordance with the Colorado State. Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and Nursing Service Scope of Practice. Design individualized plans of care with the patient and foster a team approach by working collaboratively with the patient, family, primary care provider and other members of the health care team to ensure coordination of services. Assist patients with emotional support by providing appropriate resources and tools. Using evidence-based clinical nursing guidelines, provide information, education, and access to key resources including advantages and disadvantages of disease and treatment options, and coordinate referrals as appropriate.
Effective 10/1/2013, BSN required for new hires or attain within three years of acceptance of the position.
Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience. 6 months RN experience. State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional. Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.) ACLS through the American Heart Association with card in-hand before start date, and current AHA ACLS must be good through sixty days of hire TNCC and ENPC required in 1 year from hire.
Skills and Abilities Critical thinking skills while utilizing the nursing process based on evidence-based outcomes and Standards of Practice. Competency in clinical skills related to the patient population being served. Competency in decision-making for emergency situations. Competency in the management of critical patient situations. Knowledge of how to access and utilize available resources.
